Larry MacDonald, David Campbell, Trenda Barney and Bill Lawrence as lifetime memberships are awarded
AGM Summary
An evening made festive with Doe’s signature tartan banners, tea lights and gorgeous fall floral arrangements was the setting for the 2009 AGM. Members were treated to a tasty meal, a succinct summary of association business, the induction of the 2009-2010 association leadership and good Highland traditional entertainment.
Several members who had the pleasure of attending the Scotland 09 Gathering in Edinburgh this summer provided a great video display as pre-event entertainment. Some great stories to be shared!
The association expresses a deep thank you to Leslie Dorius-Jones (living traditions and education events), Shauna Johnston DeWaal(membership), Dean Wright (past president), Bill Lawrence (Thanksgiving Point Festival & Games director). Each gave generously of their time, expertise and enthusiasm on behalf of the association and was instrumental in achieving our goals and leaving a meaningful legacy. Thank you again to each of these valued members!
David Campbell, Larry MacDonald (past presidents) and Bill Lawrence were awarded lifetime memberships to honor the enormous effort each has given over time to the welfare of the association.
Trenda Barney was honored for her consummate leadership this past year as president. Our association spread its wings and successfully undertook several new community events as well as finalized our internal procedures under her direction.
The new board set forth its Dozen Good Reasons for anticipating 2009-2010. The specifics can be found under PRESIDENT'S NOTES. (click here)
Andrew Morrill and Tyler Johnson entertained us with a variety of excellent piping tunes and Andrew's daughter demonstrated several Highland dances to an enthusiastic audience.
